Cyberzone Challenger Series 2024 scores Bronze at Marketing Excellence Awards

[Manila, Philippines] – From the shortlist to a podium finish, SM Cyberzone just proved that gaming events can be both grassroots and award-winning. The 2024 Cyberzone Challenger Series bagged Bronze for Excellence in Gaming at the 2025 Marketing Excellence Awards (MEA) held earlier this month. 

 

The category recognizes campaigns that use gaming and gamification to entertain consumers, elevate brand experience, and push business objectives forward.

 

“The Cyberzone Challenger Series started as a way to bring gamers together, but it’s grown into a platform that truly champions the gaming community,” said Patrick Pacla, Vice President – Cyberzone Operations and Marketing at SM Supermalls. “We look forward to raising the bar with even bigger and bolder events for gamers and e-sports fans.”

 

 

Held in May last year, the Challenger Series opened at SM City North EDSA with a mix of casual and competitive tournaments—featuring Tekken 8 1v1 Mini Challenge, Warzone Solo Yolo, F1 Racing Challenge, Tetris Challenge, the Call of Duty: Mobile Tournament, as well as the Valorant tournament.

 

The second leg was hosted at SM Mall of Asia, while the grand finale took place at SM City Clark.

Leveling up for 2025

This 2025, the Challenger Series continues with even more thrilling events and challenges for gamers and tech enthusiasts all over the metro, perfectly timed for the 40th anniversary celebration of SM Supermalls.
