Yearning for a state-of-the-art and innovatively designed phone that’s sure to turn heads wherever you go? Then you really should consider the Samsung Z Flip—and check out this Samsung Z Flip review and check out our video while you’re at it, so we can tell you why we think it’s worth your hard-earned cash!
In a nutshell we think the Z Flip represents the best of two worlds—the old (yeah, some of us are from that generation that knew and loved flip phones thanks to their pocketability and cool form factor) and the new (the Z Flip is a thoroughly modern smartphone inside and out).
Let’s start with a quick look at the Samsung Z Flip specs and design. The screen is of course what will draw a crowd; this is a “Foldable Infinity” foldable screen constructed of Samsung’s “Ultra Thin Glass” to keep things seamless and slim while increasing durability. A secondary 1.1-inch display is located outside to help you keep abreast of notifications without needing to flip the phone open. The phone also features “Sweeper Technology” to repel dirt and dust and guard against damage.
You’ll also appreciate that this phone also features a “Hideaway Hinge” that tucks itself away when you open the phone, yet is strong enough to support the phone if you open it and use the base as a stand. The flip setup also lead Samsung to innovate and create a novel split battery that’s found in both upper and lower halves of the phone. As for the Samsung Flip Z colors, both options—Mirror Black and Mirror Purple—color-shift depending on the angle are very attractive.
When put through its paces, the Z Flip impresses. This is one of the least obtrusive phones you can buy nowadays in terms of footprint; when folded, it doesn’t make much of an impact in your pocket or bag thanks to its compactness. The external display is tiny but provides a bunch of necessary information so you won’t always need to open up your phone unless absolutely necessary.
And when you do open it up, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover just how innovative this modern day flip form factor can get. Flip the top half of the screen up so it’s at a 90-degree angle relative to the base, and you have a nifty way of conducting video calls or watching media with the base serving as a built-in stand. The screen boasts tiny bezels and a hole-punch front-facing camera in order to maximize its minuscule size. You can also have two apps open at the same time or even launch two simultaneously through Samsung’s App Pair and Multi Active Window features.
A word now on the cameras: the Z Flip isn’t a megapixel king (or queen), but what it has it makes good use of. For instance, it offers “Night Hyperlapse” night mode to allow you to take beautiful long-exposure shots at night.
So, how much will this all set you back? The official Samsung Z Flip price in the Philippines is PhP 79,999.00—not inexpensive, but we think that if you want a really innovative form that will stand out, you’ll find that this one might well be worth its price.
