Is your boyfriend one of the lucky ducks who’ll be getting their own Playstation 5 this Christmas? Instead of hating on him, we’d love to recommend some of the top games that’ll be coming to the PS5 just in time for the Christmas season! Scroll down to browse through our top recommendations.
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles MoralesThis eagerly awaited PS5 exclusive picks up from where Marvel’s Spider-Man left off—Miles Morales gets nipped by a genetically enhanced spider and acquires superpowers—and takes it forward. Join Miles as he works to defend his Harlem home and New York City itself from a gang war between the Roxxon energy firm and the Underground, the high-tech criminal army.
Demon’s SoulsThe venerable Demon’s Souls, another PS5-only game, is a longstanding favorite which served as the series progenitor for the Souls-Borne series of games way back in 2009, will come to the PS5 in its awesome 4K glory. Screenshots have been shared online and it’s incredible to see how the original game’s pixel-infested characters are now sharp, clear, and awesome to behold.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
The latest in the beloved Assassin’s Creed series and a cross-platform game that drops for the Playstation 5 less than two weeks after it arrives for the Xbox Series X, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will take you to merry old England in the year 873, when the Viking clan that’s the focus of the story makes its way to England from Norway to put down roots and build new lives for themselves.
Watch Dogs Legion
Another game that will make its way to the PS5 after it debuts for Xbox Series X players, this one is a hacker game and sandbox shooter that’s set in a potentially dystopian, apocalyptic future: London after Brexit. Recruit new soldiers from all over to fight for your cause—including, apparently, grannies who know how to fight with knives and who are also aces at hacking drones —and swell your ranks as you fight back against the evil government. And play as any character model in the game!
This interesting upcoming hack-n-slash RPG game apparently puts players in mind of a love child of the games Dark Souls and Destiny. Don the legendary Valorplate armor as a Valorian knight, and wield a wide variety of weapons befitting a true master of combat, including hammers, spears, and blades, as you duke it out in a floating city.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
Welcome back a celebrated gaming franchise by picking up this latest iteration of the Call of Duty series. It builds on what makes the CoD franchise so awesome, including a cool new Zombies mode; a brand-spanking-new single-player campaign taking place during the Cold War, as the name suggests; and also showcases improvements to the terrifically popular Warzone mode in the form of new weapons and maps as well.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising Shadow Master Edition
Once known as Gods and Monsters, Immortals: Fenyx Rising Shadow Master Edition is yet another game that’ll be coming first to the Xbox, but don’t let that put you off. It’s proven quite impressive thanks to its color and style; its world which is reminiscent of Breath of the Wild; and the challenge it poses to players who need to take on the unenviable task of freeing the Greek gods from the mad Titan who’s imprisoned them.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure
Bet you’re surprised to see this game rounding up our list, aren’t you? But we love how it represents a change of direction and pace from the others, which are of course zippy, hectic, and even bloodthirsty. Play as Sackboy himself and vie to rescue your Sackpals from the villainous Vex, who’s kidnapped them to force them to build his diabolical dream machine known as the Topsy Turver. Fun for all ages.
