Lenovo K12 Pro
Launched just last month, this new Lenovo is a hop-and-skip up from its already established Lenovo K12 stablemate. The K12 Pro is larger at 6.8in and has an HD+ Max Vision IPS display with 1640 x 720 resolution. It’s got decent underpinnings–a Snapdragon 662 octacore processor, 4GB of RAM and an Adreno 610 GPU–and comes with 128GB of internal storage. Camera buffs will be happy to know that this phone boasts a good snapper set: 64MP main lens + 2MP macro + 2MP depth for the main camera set, and a 16MP front-facing selfie lens. The battery is a whopping 6000mAh (not at all bad for this price range), and you also get USB Type-C, a water-repellent design, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The K12 Pro comes in two distinctive color choices, Electric Violet and Metallic Sage.
Mi Philippines has made its name by offering phones that are excellent value for money, and with the Redmi 9T, Mi stays true to its character. The 9T boasts a 6.53in FHD+ “dot drop” display (2340 x 1080 resolution) and comes in four color choices: Twilight Blue, Sunrise Orange, Ocean Green and Carbon Gray. Anti-fingerprint texture helps keep this phone immaculate and fresh. LIke the K12 Pro, this phone is also splashproof, and it also mounts a powerful 6000mAh battery, is powered by the Snapdragon 662 processor, and has 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The 9T has a quad-camera set (8MP ultrawide + 48MP main + 2MP depth + 2MP macro) and an 8P front camera. Oh, and its speakers are Hi-Res audio certified, a definite plus for audiophiles and gamers, and it also comes with a side-located fingerprint sensor.
Samsung Galaxy A02s
Samsung revitalizes its lower-end smartphone category with the A02s. This phone is one of the first to boast an Infinity-V Display–less bezels and more screen real estate–and this particular screen is 6.5in on the diagonal and is crisp and clear thanks to HD+ technology (1600 x 720 resolution). Three lenses make up the A02s’ main camera set (13MP main, 2MP depth, 2MP macro), whereas its front-facing camera is a 5MP affair. Under the hood, the A02s runs the Snapdragon 450 processor and 4GB of RAM, boasts 64GB of onboard storage, and is powered by a 5000mAh battery. This is yet another budget phone that has a USB-C connector, and we’re happy to see that USB-C is continuing to gain acceptance and to be featured in more phones. The matte-finished A02s comes in Black and Blue.
With the Y20i, Vivo seeks to bring “More Power, More Style” to the budget smartphone market. The phone is pretty much par for the course with key features like a 6.51in Halo FullView Display (1600 x 720 resolution); a Snapdragon 460 processor and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage; and a 5000mAh battery. A 13MP main lens, 2MP depth and 2MP bokeh lens make up the main snapper set, and the front-facing camera is 8MP. The Y20i is yet another phone that features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for convenience and ease of access. Overall, this is a stylish phone that can be had in two head-turning color choices, namely the striking Dawn White and Nebula Blue.
OPPO is touting the A15s’ “Bigger Storage, Bigger Screen” as its selling point: its “waterdrop” IPS LCD screen is 6.52in (1600 x 720 resolution). It’s powered by a MediaTek MT6765 Helio octacore processor, 4GB RAM, and either 64GB or 128GB of storage space. The A15s boasts modest imaging capabilities thanks to its front-facing 8MP snapper and triple-lens main camera set (13MP main, 2MP macro and 2MP depth). Dirac 2.0 audio helps provide an immersive audio experience whether you’re watching videos, listening to music, or gaming. A fingerprint sensor helps you gain access to the phone even when masked. The battery capacity of this phone is a bit on the low side vis-a-vis the others we also looked at 4230mAh. The A15s can be had in two colors, Fancy White and Dynamic Black.
