With the pandemic still ongoing, it can be quite hard to find the motivation to stay fit. Not only do we feel limited with our options at home, but working out alone can also get quite boring. Well, not anymore. We found some fitness apps that are so fun, you’ll feel like you’re in a video game. Check them out.

BattleSuit Runner Fitness

If you love immersing yourself into fictional worlds, story-based apps are a great way to keep your fitness journey going. BattleSuit Runner Fitness is one of these apps. Through a fun audiobook type setting, you basically have to save the world against aliens by running, The more you run, the more features you’ll unlock for your in-app battle suit.

What makes the app even more fun is the fact that it brings in a Choose Your Own Adventure element in every now and then where you have to choose your next course of action. Should you save the hostages by slowing down your run or run after the enemy by running faster? Each choice ends in a different way, making the app more fun to use.

Burn Your Fat with Me

If you’re a fan of role-playing games, particularly dating ones, you will love Burn Your Fat with Me. This app works like a virtual anime dating simulator where you aim to impress your date – slash – training partner who works out with you and encourages you to keep going. It’s definitely unconventional but if you love anime girls, then this is perfect for you. Sadly, the version for women with male gym buddies is currently only available in Japanese.

Superhero Workout

Love superheroes? If you’re familiar with the app 7-Minute Workout, this app pretty much functions in the same way – but adds a superhero element to it. In this app, your goal is to save the world with the help of a mech battle suit called AEGIS one. The suit will ask you to complete different exercises to active weapons, shields, and abilities. It also has a camera-activated motion tracker that can count your reps and tell you how many calories you’re burning as you move – definitely a fun way to motivate you to get those workouts done.

Zombies, Run

Admit it: when the pandemic started, it felt like the end of the world. Turn that thought into something more fun with the Zombies, Run app… if you think zombies are fun and not scary, that is.

Zombies, Run is a great fit for people who want to run but find the activity quite boring. The app has an audiobook feel and combines it with exercise so you’ll get motivated to keep running to find out more. In it, you play as “Runner 5”, one of the survivors of the zombie apocalypse who has to go out on expeditions to stay in Abel Township. Each mission is explained in the audio recordings and you can even play your own music as you gather information, pick up supplies, and discover more secrets about the zombie outbreak. It also features zombie chase sequences that will compel you to run faster for certain intervals. It’s so cool!
