What a year 2020’s been! While the year and its happenings have posed quite a challenge to all of us, we’re fortunate that technology has been there to help many of us manage.

Never has this been more evident than for the students who had to study at home during this time. An assortment of gadgets and gear is available to help ease the transition to studying at home and to help ensure that they continue to learn and be productive despite the many challenges of their environment.

Lenovo Tab M8 and M10

2020 was the year that many—students and professionals and people from all over—found that tablets could in some ways and for some applications actually be good substitutes for laptops. A capable tablet like the Lenovo Tab M8 is can prove to be excellent for the home student. The Tab M8 has an 8” IPS HD touchscreen display for great visuals, a Dolby Audio-tuned speaker for excellent sound, a powerful quad-core processor, and a battery that can provide up to as much as 18 hours of web browsing. Additionally, the M8 has a TUV-certified display that reduces eye-searing blue light.

If you’re up for a slightly larger model, the Tab M10 offers a 10.1” HD display and added features including an included Smart Dock to help you enjoy a hands-free experience.

 

Acer Aspire 5

For those home learners who do prefer or need to use laptops, many good choices abound. The Aspire 5 is one of the best. iPad Air

For those home learners who prefer iPadOS, Apple’s iPad Air might just prove irresistible. Huawei Matebook

 Think Huawei is just about smartphones? Think again. The company also offers a burgeoning range of laptops, including the Matebook series. This series includes two stylish models, the Matebook 13 which offers a 13” FullView Display, a light yet sturdy chassis (just 1.3kg), and your choice of up to 10th-gen Intel processors and NVIDIA graphics and up to 16GB RAM and 512GB of SSD storage. Or look at the Matebook 14 if you want something a little larger but no less stylish or powerful. The Matebook 13 can be had in Mystic Silver and Space Grey, whereas the Matebook 14 comes in Space Gray only.

Dell Inspiron 15 3000

Here’s another good laptop option for you home learning folks. Dell’s Inspiron 15 3000 is the largest laptop on our list, what with its 15.6” HD or FHD display, but thanks to its good design and light weight, it isn’t hard to carry around or use. Similarly with the other laptops on this list, you also get a wide range of options in terms of storage, processors (10th- or 11th-generation Intel processors) and up to 8GB RAM. Choose from restrained color options including black, mint, blue and white.

EPSON Printers

Lastly, even though home learners might not be in classrooms or physically interacting with their classmates and teachers, they may still need to print out papers and other things. EPSON has quite a few printers that can meet this need. The PictureMate PM-520, for instance, is a photo printer that allows for quick and easy printing of high-quality images.
