Innovation has always been synonymous with Lenovo since the launch of its 1st generation tablet-laptop convertible device, the IdeaPad Yoga, back in 2012. Flash forward to 2021, the hybrid pioneer tech giant recently unveiled its latest addition to its Yoga product line, the Yoga 9i.
Here’s a quick rundown of its awesome features:
Yoga feature, look, and design
Carrying the legacy of its predecessors, the Yoga 9i inherits the signature hinged form factor that allows the device to convert from laptop to tablet. The Yoga 9i doesn’t shy away from flaunting its elegant design factor, as the Aerospace-grade metal chassis can optionally be paired with a bonded genuine leather when opting for the Shadow Black variant.
Aesthetics aside, the Yoga 9i also takes overall power and performance very seriously. This hybrid device is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i7 processor for the 14-inch variant; and a 10th Gen Intel Core i9 for the 15-inch model. Both models are backed by 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB SSD PCle storage space (up to 2TB for the 15-inch variant) to ensure maximum efficiency when handling even the heaviest of tasks.
Rotating Sound Bar
Sure, the Yoga 9i’s Rotating Sound Bar may look underwhelming at first, but don’t let it fool you. This trusty sound bar is equipped with Dolby Atmos Speaker System, complete with built-in subwoofers tweeters for a three-dimensional auditory experience.
Lenovo embraces adaptability by incorporating the use of the latest AI technology. In the case of Yoga 9i, the device employs the assistance of Alexa to improve the user interface. Adding to this is the Intelligent Cooling System (co-engineered by Intel) which analyzes and regulates the device’s performance to optimize overall usage.
The Yoga 9i is fitted with two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 Thunderbolt 4 Ports, USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 (Gen 1 for the 15-inch variant), and a 3.5mm headphone-mic combo plug. While the 14-inch variant shares the USB-C port for connecting various peripherals, as well as battery charging, the 15-inch comes with a dedicated power input slot.
Yoga i9 exudes vibrant colors with a sharp, crisp display, thanks to its UHD (3840 x 2160), optimized by Dolby Vision for an ultra-immersive visual experience. Meanwhile, its IPS Touchscreen Display provides a seamless and responsive finger swipe when interacting with the device, be it on tablet or laptop mode.
Accompanying the display is Yoga i9’s Intel Iris X Graphics (14-inch model) and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti (for the 15-inch model) to deliver enhanced imagery for AAA gaming, entertainment, visual creation.
Touchpad, Keyboard, Stylus
Both variants of the Yoga i9 comes with the self-charging garaged pen with Elastomer Nib to replicate the natural flow and feel of writing on paper. The pen is housed in a built-in dock which is located at the back of the device. The Glass Sense Touchpad on the other hand utilizes an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and haptic feedback to allow up to 50% more active surface coverage. Just right above the touchpad is the newly enhanced built-in backlit US-English Keyboard which offers an ultra-responsive soft touch typing experience.
As said earlier, the Yoga 9i’s AI Technology provides an extra boost in optimizing its battery life. The device is packed with enough juice that can last for up to 10 hours of continuous usage, peaking at an impressive 13 hours based on MobileMark® 2014 Battery Life Benchmark Test.
