Most parents will agree when I say that it has been increasingly difficult to keep kids entertained during the pandemic. One thing that I am glad I invested in during this time, though, is a Nintendo Switch. Not only did it help us keep the boredom at bay, but it also helped us bond as a family.
Whether you already own a Nintendo Switch or are still planning on buying one, here are 7 fun games you should check out that the entire family is sure to love.
Love board games but can’t seem to get your kids into them? If your kids prefer screens over boards, I say, “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em!” Clubhouse Games brings together the best of both generations by introducing 51 tabletop games from all over the world to the digital screen. Not only will you find some of your old favorites here like Backgammon and Mancala (aka sungka), you’ll also get to discover a whole slew of games together you might never have heard of before. Don’t worry. They all come with instructions so you won’t have any trouble figuring them out together.
Just Dance 2021
Does your family love to dance? Want to make sure your family avoids lazing around all day? Do you perhaps just want to get grooving? It’s time to get the ultimate dance game: Just Dance 2021! Even if you aren’t much of a dancer, there’s nothing to worry about. In fact, laughing at and with each other is half the fun. With bright colors and great music, you may even get better at dancing by playing this game regularly. The latest version comes with 40 new tracks including hits like Adore You by Harry Styles and Ice Cream by BLACKPINK x Selena Gomez. It’s time to get the party started!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Mario Kart is always fun. Just make sure there aren’t any crybabies in the family because things could get intense. Choose from your favorite Mario characters like Princess Peach, Toad, and Mario himself and start racing against each other on bright and colorful tracks. Pick up special tokens to attack your opponents and above all things, make sure to have fun along the way. You can even add chores into the mix to make things more interesting. Loser does the dishes, perhaps?
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order
Does your family love Marvel? Then this is a game you simply need to get your hands on! With the Marvel Cinematic Universe currently on hold, get your Marvel fix through this game where you can put together your own team of superheroes to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos does. With extra Joy-Cons, you can have four players team up on one system – fun for the entire family indeed!
If your kids love Minecraft, this game will help you get to know their world better as you battle through different action-filled levels together. Earn treasure, save villages, and take down the evil Arch-Illager as a team. Your kids are sure to love the game, and they will definitely appreciate your eagerness to bond through one of their favorite fandoms.
Overcooked 2 involves cooking dishes and serving guests as you navigate through difficult levels within a specific time limit. It is a ton of fun, but it can also be incredibly frustrating. If you are up for the challenge, let your competitiveness and leadership reign supreme. You can work together and try to get through Story Mode, or you can battle against each other in Versus Mode. The choice is yours, but heed our warning that fights may ensue. If there are impatient people in your family, you might want to steer clear of this game altogether.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
If you’re looking for an action-filled game, try Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Battle each other and try to throw each other off stage as some of your favorite Nintendo characters. Parents will especially get a kick of nostalgia when they see some of their childhood favorites pop up on screen.
